The church is meant to be a “collective.” A community of people partnering together, individually distinct, but united to display the glory of God.
In his shortest book, the Apostle Paul wrote about this subject to Philemon. This small letter brought a massive challenge of, and encouragement to be, “The Collective”. Where Paul had once given the metaphor to describe the church as “members”, he now defines our role as “partners”. Paul’s desire was that the church would operate in the way God designed them: to walk in partnership with God and with each other.
